Psychotherapist Jobs in Richmond, VA
Seeking Depth to Recovery was founded in 2019 by Adrienne Loker, LCSW, EMDR, SEP as a response to the need for more humane, sustainable ways of practicing therapy. What began as a solo practice became the first in the Richmond area to introduce and thoughtfully refine the 90-minute intensive model.
In 2021, Seeking Depth expanded into a group practice. As a team, we focus on training and supporting therapists in the treatment of attachment, developmental, and relational trauma through somatic and experiential approaches. Our work emphasizes depth, nervous system communication, and the use of relationship as the primary vehicle for healing.

Trauma sensitivity informs not only how we work clinically, but how we operate as a practice. We value authenticity, relationality, and teachability. We lead with transparency from the hiring process through ongoing employment. Our goal is to create a workplace that thoughtfully balances the needs of our clinicians with the sustainability and integrity of the practice.

Our long-term vision is to become a retreat center for trauma recovery and training. While we continue to grow, our intention is to remain a small, cohesive team so that culture; and by extension, high-quality clinical care; remains our central focus.
At its core, our mission is simple: to support our team and our clients in enjoying our time on earth through meaningful relationships.
Training & Professional Development
Our training program is designed as a five-year developmental pathway:

-
Year 1: Build proficiency in Somatically-Centered EMDR ©, somatic therapy, experiential modalities, Self-Triangulation Role Theory ©, and attachment-based interventions that use the therapist–client relationship as a primary tool.
-
Year 2: Deepen and integrate these skills to clinical mastery.
-
Year 3: Apply these approaches in group settings and begin learning how to train others.
-
Years 4–5: Extend this work into supervision and consultation, refining clinical leadership and teaching capacity.
We offer a comprehensive training system to support therapists in learning, practicing, and integrating advanced clinical skills over time.
