About: About Me
"I'm more aware of the different inner influences and the need to address them to love more parts of me, all parts of me."

-Psychodrama Participant

Laina is a warm, grounded, and deeply creative clinician who believes that healing happens when we reconnect with the stories, relationships, and inner rhythms that shape who we are. With a background in both mental health counseling and theatre, she brings a unique blend of clinical skill and creative intuition to her work with clients. Her approach centers on helping people uncover the narratives that have guided their lives, make space for the emotions held in the body, and cultivate new possibilities for healing in mind, body, and soul.

Laina earned her Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Mississippi College, where she graduated with a 4.0 GPA. She is currently completing the North American Drama Therapy Association’s Alternative Training Track as she works toward licensure in counseling. Before joining our practice, Laina gained meaningful clinical experience at Defining Wellness Center and The NET at Crossroads Ministries, where she provided individual and group therapy for clients navigating addiction recovery and reentry following incarceration. Her work reflects a deep respect for resilience, dignity, and the healing power of human connection.

Before entering the counseling field, Laina served as Managing Director and Founder of Hearth & Mantel Theatre, leading a team of artists in producing plays, community events, and creative collaborations. She has also facilitated theatre and poetry workshops in correctional facilities across the U.S. and abroad through Shining Light Ministries and Operation Mobilization Ireland. These experiences continue to shape her belief that creativity can be a profound catalyst for insight, empowerment, and transformation.

In her clinical work, Laina integrates drama therapy principles, psychodramatic action methods, mindfulness-based techniques, and a collaborative, client-centered stance. She is especially passionate about supporting individuals who are navigating life transitions, complex and childhood trauma, identity shifts, grief, and the complexity of rebuilding after difficult chapters.

Above all, Laina is committed to creating a therapeutic space where clients feel seen, supported, and invited to step into their most authentic and expansive selves.
