-Participant of Therapy with Sav

Sav is a trauma therapist in Henrico, VA who specializes in helping individuals recover from complex trauma and life’s most difficult experiences. She is trained in both Standard EMDR Protocol and Seeking Depth’s proprietary Somatically-Centered EMDR, which integrates polyvagal theory and Somatic Experiencing. This approach allows for a comprehensive, body-centered, and carefully paced method of resolving trauma.

Sav also incorporates the proprietary parts work model, Self-Triangulation, created by the founder of Seeking Depth to Recovery, drawing from J.L. Moreno's Role Theory. Unlike Internal Family Systems, Role Theory asserts that the Self is made up of the many roles we have played throughout life. By exploring these roles, clients can better understand their needs, develop compassion for themselves, and create a more cohesive sense of identity.

Sav brings psychodrama into the individual therapy space - allowing clients the experience of embodying their resilience, developing insight into the subtle pervasiveness of their trauma roles, and reprocessing trauma in a practical, contained, safe, and meaningful way.

Sav supports individuals in developing independence, navigating major life transitions, and finding meaning and fulfillment. She also walks alongside individuals, couples, and families as they strengthen trust, communication, and self-understanding. In addition, Sav works with families navigating the challenges of having a loved one in recovery—supporting the transition back home after treatment and addressing the nuanced needs that arise in the first year of sobriety for the whole family system.

Sav is passionate about helping clients resolve—not just manage—trauma symptoms so they can live with more ease and authenticity. She brings curiosity, empathy, and real-world experience to her practice, creating a safe environment where healing can unfold at each person’s pace. Using body-based approaches such as grounding and breathwork, Sav helps clients reconnect with their bodies and regain a sense of safety. When ready, she guides them through EMDR to release stuck trauma, shift negative self-beliefs, and move toward lasting recovery.
