(She/They)
EMDR Trauma Psychotherapist
Sav is an EMDR therapist in Henrico, VA who specializes in LGBTQIA+ matters, complex trauma, polyamory, relationships, and sexual exploration. She integrates Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, CBT, and Motivational Interviewing into her EMDR practice to best support her clients in developing a lasting sense of empowerment and the ability to overcome helplessness and confusion.

Over the past four years being in the mental health field, Sav has found enjoyment in working with a variety of relational constellations and developmental milestones across the lifespan. These include supporting teens to young adults navigating individuation, emerging adults transitioning to mid-life, older adults finding meaning in life, and individuals of all ages exploring sexuality – sexual relationships, queerness, polyamory, and open relationships. She finds joy in the rich and meaningful exploration of trust, communication, and personal growth in family, couples, and relationship therapy.

Sav is passionate about helping clients comfortably and efficiently address the challenges in their lives that impact their ability to function the way they’d like to. She believes in helping her clients to resolve trauma symptoms, not just deal with them. Sav approaches therapy with curiosity and empathy, using her lived experiences to help her to foster authentic therapeutic connections.

Sav uses body-oriented approaches, like grounding and breathwork, to help individuals reconnect with their body to feel safe enough to move through stuck trauma states. She gently guides individuals toward more awareness of their inner life’s experience by attuning to what they need to feel safe, in control, and to move at their own pace. When clients are ready, she uses EMDR to reduce feelings of helplessness and powerlessness and transform negative self-beliefs.
