About the event
Integrating the Fragmented Self: A Role-Based Framework for Clinical Practice
Presented by Adrienne Loker, LCSW, EMDR, SEP
This training introduces Self-Triangulation Theory, a role-based clinical framework for understanding the impact of attachment experiences, chronic stress, and resilience-building experiences on personality development and functioning. Participants will learn how internalized roles influence emotional regulation, interpersonal relationships, self-concept, and behavioral responses to stress.
Drawing from role theory, attachment theory, structural dissociation, interpersonal neurobiology, and contemporary trauma treatment approaches, Self-Triangulation Theory provides clinicians with a practical framework for conceptualizing client presentations and identifying pathways toward greater integration and adaptive functioning.
Participants will also learn experiential and action-oriented interventions derived from psychodramatic practice that can be incorporated into clinical social work treatment. Techniques such as role reversal, doubling, empty-chair dialogue, and role externalization will be presented as methods for increasing client insight, enhancing emotional processing, strengthening adaptive coping capacities, and facilitating corrective relational experiences.
