Adrienne Loker, LCSW is an EMDRIA Certified Therapist and Consultant, Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, and Psychodrama Therapist. She is trained in Brainspotting, Internal Family Systems, and Attachment Based therapy.

You can work with Adrienne by enrolling in one of her groups or workshops or hiring her for a family or team workshop. Adrienne is also accepting a limited number of consultees interested in seeking EMDR certification, or infusing their clinical practice with somatic therapy.

Adrienne provides ongoing clinical supervision and advanced training for all practitioners at Seeking Depth to Recovery, ensuring every client receives the highest quality of care. She oversees each therapist’s work to maintain excellence in somatic-based interventions and experiential therapy practices. As the creator of Somatically-Centered EMDR and Self-Triangulation Theory, Adrienne personally trains her team in these approaches—offering a depth of practice that goes beyond what is typically available in standard EMDR or IFS-based clinics. Clients can trust that, while Adrienne’s expertise shapes every aspect of the practice, each therapist brings that same standard of excellence into the therapy room.

About: About Me

Group Participant

"[This group has] been an extreme improvement in both how I relate to myself, my past; and those I'm in relationship with."

Adrienne Loker, LCSW is a national trauma recovery expert and trainer in Richmond, VA. Receiving her Bachelors (2009) and Masters (2012) degrees in Social Work from VCU, Adrienne pursued the study of experiential healing of nonverbal trauma.

During her graduate studies, Adrienne learned the value of utilizing Gestalt methods in peer and multifamily group therapies. This allowed Adrienne to deepen group processing by examining the here-and-now relational dynamics that reflect human behavior outside of group. This enriched her therapeutic practice profoundly, which led her to study within various schools of psychodrama

With her use of psychodrama, Adrienne allows group participants to access dormant and implicit content that cannot be retrieved through verbal processing alone (if at all). Participants in group therapy with Adrienne report feeling more connected to parts of themselves that they didn't know existed, capable of attuning and attending to their emotional wounds, and having greater sense of agency to set boundaries and pursue their dreams.

Adrienne's passion is her work with nonverbal and relational trauma. She is highly trained in various neurobiological interventions that allow her to work directly with the nervous system to rebalance fight/flight/freeze states. She is skilled in working with dissociation and attachment wounds, and delights in supporting her clients toward integrative, self-parenting states.

Adrienne is an EMDRIA Certified Therapist who provides consultation for other EMDR therapists seeking certification. She has developed her own somatically-centered EMDR protocol that prioritizes internal sense of safety by ensuring that we remain dominant in the Social Engagement Nervous System.

Adrienne has advanced EMDR training in dissociation, attachment and preverbal trauma, group therapy reprocessing, couples and marital EMDR, and Internal Family Systems.

Adrienne has completed the three year training in Somatic Experiencing and is a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP). She is also trained in Brainspotting, and integrates this into her EMDR practice.
